Rosaline Yuen - Tiny Goddness - Album Review

April 2011 is probably one of the most meaningful months for Rosaline Yuen, an Australian singer-songwriter from Melbourne, originally a classic piano player and that has just released her first full length album entitled Tiny Goddess, through her own label ‘thirtysixbird’.

The production was made by Rosaline herself (Vocals) and Ian Kitney (Drums and Ukulele) co-produced the album. Tiny Goddess was recorded in a little room above the Forum Theatre and at Audrey Studios in Coburg, Victoria and it was mixed and mastered by Craig Pilkington (Guitar and Trumpet and the final result shows just how strong and sweet Rosaline’s music is.

Ladi6 - The Ice Cream Factory - April 9th

Arriving at ‘The Ice-cream factory’ I was slightly curious to see the new venue and see how they could turn an ice-cream factory into a new venue. I was surly surprised and amazed at the creativity when I walked into the room. The only downside to the venue was that although it was 18+ you couldn’t take any drinks out to where the performers where.

Starting off the night was the distinct vocal stylings of Captain Dreamboat. I have to say this was a perfect way to start the night. As people where arriving and greeting others it was very nice to have that atmosphere beginning to be built.
