Thee Oh Sees are the kind of band people come out for. Even those who don’t usually tolerate the seediness of the Fortitude Valley nightlife precinct made the effort to venture into its dingy depths on Friday night to watch Thee Oh Sees at Brisbane’s Crow Bar, locally known as a haven for all things noise.

How in all hell does a musician-come-journalist living in near-catastrophic awe of a musical demigod review the final musical testament almost immediately upon his ascension from the physical realm? The answer is heart wrenching and simple: Stick on some headphones, close the mind shut like a Labyrinth trap, start typing and hit 'send' to the editor before the brain gets a chance to retract a single word.

Festival Review: The Falls Music & Arts Festival Day 3 @ North Byron Parklands, 02.01.2016

We made it! Day three of this beautiful musical marathon has arrived upon us. The third day is always the most interesting and testing. Rising from tents-turned-saunas, the strong are separated from the weak, as everyone has a mini-existential crisis while digging deep to find the last ounces of energy to make it to the finish line.

HAPPY BLOODY NEW YEAR FRIENDS! We are tired, we are hungover, we slept on the floor, we are unshowered but we wouldn’t have it any other way. A plethora of froth worthy material smashed their way onto the amphitheatre stage filling our ears with nostalgia, stellar DJ sets and rave-tastic tunes. A New Year’s Eve that would be up their with one of the best, The Falls Music & Arts Festival Byron Bay delivered the goods, hurling us into 2016 in such glorious style.

Live Review: Gin Wigmore, Miss Eileen & King Lear @ The Foundry, 09.12.15

A lot has happened for Gin Wigmore in the last few years. Propelled by unguided courage, she decided to abandon her well-rooted life in Sydney, move across the world to Los Angeles, and record a new album, Blood to Bone. Although it’s been over three years since Gin last graced Brisbane soil, it was clear that her fans hadn’t forgotten her, as the Foundry was well packed and alive on Wednesday night.
