The godfather of chillwave, Neon Indian, has added Melbourne and Adelaide dates to his long-awaited Australian return later in the year.
Fresh from an unforgettable appearance performing Annie on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Neon Indian continues to make waves with the release of the glamorous new single The Glitzy Hive, the third off the comeback album ‘VEGA INTL. Night School’, out today.
Following the success of the singles Annie and Slumlord, which have racked up more than half a million SoundCloud plays, The Glitzy Hive is a bouncy dance-floor jam, ready just in time for summer.
The follow-up to 2011s 'Era Extraña', ‘VEGA INTL. Night School’ marks a period of aesthetic reinvention from Neon Indian. The album is chock full of diverse and elaborate songwriting, which has much to do with the wide range of locations the album was created, from a cabin aboard a cruise ship to DFA’s Plantain Studios in NY and Pure X’s Austin practice space. The end result is some of Neon Indian’s most interesting work to date.
For his Australian tour, Neon Indian will be among the first to christen new Adelaide venue Fat Controller, while Melbourne venue details are yet to be finalized. These dates are on top of his highly anticipated Meredith and Disconnect festival appearances, and Wollongong, Sydney and Brisbane sideshows.
