Triple j Unearthed winner Jesse Davidson’s second EP ‘Lizard Boy’ is out 19 October, and to back the new release Davidson and his band will set off on a national tour, taking in festivals in South Australia and Victoria as well as headline shows in Sydney and Brisbane.
Davidson has also recently signed with US booking agency The Windish Agency (whose clientele includes Alt-J, CHVRCHES and Courtney Barnett).
The EP, which will be released via Create/Control, was recorded at Lightship 95, a studio housed in a 550 tonne ship that is permanently moored at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London. Last month Davidson revealed the dreamy new single Lagoon off the ‘Lizard Boy’ EP.
The year started well for Davidson with a performance at Laneway Festival in his hometown of Adelaide and Groovin’ The Moo, before heading overseas to the UK, where he showcased at The Great Escape emerging artists’ festival. He then played BIGSOUND in September and is only now wrapping up the final show as main support for Dustin Tebbutt on his national album tour.
In April this year Davidson and his band were invited to take part in triple j’s Like A Version, which ended up being featured on the recently released Like A Version 2015 compilation CD.
Davidson has had a stellar 2015, and with the upcoming release of his second EP he is showing no signs of slowing down this year.
