Feature Interview: Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy’s Drop keep hitting new heights, with the band announcing a massive national tour of Australia in February 2016 to support their new album ‘Bays’, which is due out on 23 October.
The perennial soul shakers from across the ditch are carving really making a name for themselves on the international stage with a mix of soul, reggae and techno and blistering live sets.
The seven piece band will also be joined by internationally recognised lap-slide guitarist Thomas Oliver at all the dates, while Sydney and Perth will get to see Melbourne neo-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote in support.
After emerging from the underground music scene of Wellington, New Zealand in 1999, Fat Freddy’s Drop are still together and making music in their own unique way, and have gathered plenty of fans along the way. The band is currently hitting two million streams a month and at last count they have played over 800 shows over the past 16 years.
No two live shows are the same but one thing is certain at a Fat Freddy’s Drop gig: it’s impossible to stop grooving.
