Walk The Moon have announced a return to Australian shores in January 2016 for a national tour, with The Griswolds in tow as support.
The Ohio natives are currently in the country this week for a string of special performances, including sold out gigs in Melbourne and Sydney after the recent release of their bold new album, ‘Talking Is Hard’ and infectious second single Different Colours.
Walk The Moon’s tour next year will be their third visit to Australia, and will see them play the Astor Theatre in Perth on 21 January, The Gov in Adelaide on 23 January, The Forum in Melbourne on 25 January, The Triffid in Brisbane on 29 January and finally the Metro Theatre in Sydney on 31 January.
Emerging from Cincinnati and formed by singer/keyboardist Nicholas Petricca, Walk The Moon have quickly become one of the most exciting pop-rock artists on the scene, having played for massive crowds at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, and supported bands like Pink, Panic! At The Disco and Fun across the US, UK and Europe as well as appearing on late-night TV institutions like Letterman, Fallon and Conan. Their up-beat anthem Shut Up & Dance has been a hit and surged to the top of the Billboard chart and hitting triple platinum in the US, while it hit number three on the ARIA singles charts.
This isn’t the first time these two bands have toured together, with Walk The Moon and The Griswalds sharing the stage on an extensive 45 plus gig run across North America in March this year. The bands would regularly jump on stage during each other’s sets and cover each other’s songs. Aussie fans can expect more of the same when the two join forces again for this upcoming tour, and an experience that will leave audiences screaming for more.
