Tame Impala have announced a massive national tour this November to support their latest album ‘Currents’.
The tour will take them to Australia’s outdoor amphitheatres, beginning on Saturday 7 November at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, then a very special performance at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Wednesday 11 November, before heading to Perth’s Belvoir Amphitheatre on Saturday 14 November, the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide on Wednesday 18 November and then winding things up at the Brisbane Riverstage on Saturday 21 November.
‘Currents’ is the Perth band's third studio release, and one of the hottest albums of 2015. It marks a bold departure from the expected but retains the mystic psychedelic overtones the band is known for, coupled with a lush dense texture and endless hooks in a colourful, bold album from start to finish.
This year has been a big one for Tame Impala, who have received universal accolades and adulation from critics, fellow musicians and fans alike for headlining slots at Coachella and Governors Ball, plus an epic Splendour In The Grass set last month.
Supporting Tame Impala on all of their Australian dates will be Mini Mansions, a Los Angeles three-piece founded by Zach Dawes, Tyler Parkford, and Queens of the Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman.
