RUFUS return with 'You Were Right' Tour and Video

RUFUS / RUFUS DU SOL (should you happen to live in North America) have announced a huge run of Australian and North American shows in October and November. The You Were Right Tour is accompanied by the release of the music video for ‘You Were Right’, as Australians are largely incapable of going three months without some sort of RUFUS related news.

The video takes in noirish blue-lit shots of stairs and corridors, cracked pavement, and super-slow pans across the electronic trio’s searching faces, before (to my rather shock) they begin ascending like Neo into the heavens! The look of pure ecstasy on their faces suggests this anti-gravity is, in fact, a pleasant sensation akin to a warm shower. RUFUS are joined by a litany of other floating spirits; young, old, female, depressed, drowning- they all rise skywards, leaving a trail of feathers, torn paper and shattered gravel. Directed by Katzki (aka keyboardist Jon George’s brother), his 7th tilt at a RUFUS music video, ‘You Were Right’ tries to recreate the anticipation of a moment of complete release and euphoria.

Though we haven’t gotten a release date or album title yet, the You Were Right Tour will be a perfect way to gage enthusiasm, after the success of 2013’s Atlas, which debuted at #1 and has been certified Gold since. Commencing in Brisbane on 16 October, through to 11 November in New York (New Yawk!), all tickets are on sale now and a second show has already been added in Melbourne. Don’t dilly-dally!
