Japanese Wallpaper Shows Sell In Matter of Hours, New Dates Added

A week ago, AAA bought you the news that high-school wizard Gab Strum a.k.a. Japanese Wallpaper was touring in support of his self-titled debut EP. Incredibly, all five of those shows sold out in a matter of hours. If you didn’t manage to snap up a

ticket first time around, I have some good news for you: extra shows have been added in Sydney and Melbourne, and the Brisbane venue has been upgraded from Black Bear Lodge to the Zoo.

Joining Japanese Wallpaper’s East Coast tour will be effusive Sydney art-pop babe, Montaigne, fresh of an incredibly successful EP of her own and receiving significant national airtime. Another friend we can’t wait to see in Brisbane is old mate BANFF, who has toured previously with Montaigne.

The Japanese Wallpaper EP will act as a sort of retrospective of the first fledgling eighteen months of Gab’s music career. He hosts a clutch of other promising young Australian acts on the EP, including Airling, Wafia, Pepa Knight and Jesse Davidson. However, Gab has also shared a little vision, a vision of him tucked away in a little recording space next year and laying down an album he can be proud of.

Japanese Wallpaper EP is out June 19 on Zero Through Nine via Inertia.
