They describe themselves as too noisy for new wave, but too pussy for punk and this July Baltimore legends Future Islands will be making an appearance at Splendour in the Grass and several sideshows to boot.
2014 has seen Samuel T. Herring (vocals), William Cashion (bass & guitars) & Gerrit Welmers (keyboards & programming) riding a monster wave of success!
Their fourth album Singles was released in March via new label partner 4AD to much applause and their performance of the century on The Late Show with David Letterman went viral.
Singles is the band’s fourth full-length album, following On The Water (Thrill Jockey, 2011), which garnered a Best New Track nod from Pitchfork for the song ‘Balance’, In Evening Air (Thrill Jockey, 2010) and Wave Like Home (Upset The Rhythm, 2008).
