Headlining Listen Out 2013, dance duo Disclosure exploded onto the scene this past year with a string of hot house hits including popular tracks “White Noise”, “Latch” and their most recent track “When A Fire Starts To Burn”.
Now, these young lads from the UK add Listen Out sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne to their schedule.
Dubbed the most successful British dance act in a generation, they’ve not only soared to the top of the charts and sold out venues across the world – they’ve also changed the nature of British pop, opening the door for underground dance acts to flood the mainstream. All this from a couple of brothers that only just finished school. The eldest, Guy, is 21. The youngest, Howard, is just 18.
They recently released their debut record ‘Settle’ with accolades from far and wide, including acclaimed UK radio host Zane Lowe stating “Settle is my favourite album of the year so far” and online music bible Pitchfork giving it a rare 9.1/10. The album debuted on the charts at #1 in the UK and #5 in Australia, as well aspeak at #1 on the ARIA dance chart. The duo was named #1 Beatport Artist of2012 and dubbed as iTunes New Dance Artist in the same year. They are also the #1 most played on triple j and topped Hype Machine's Top 30 most Blogged About Artists 2012. The album's got a stellar cast – as well as the aforementioned singles there’s brand new vocals from Jessie Ware, Friendly Fires’ Ed McFarlane, Jamie Woon and fellow Listen Out artist Aluna Francis (from AlunaGeorge).
