Of Monsters and Men Announce 3rd and Final Sydney Show

Of Monster and Men

Over the last twelve months, Australian fans have fallen for Of Monsters and Men.  Garnering sell out shows, critical accolades, hordes of fans and platinum records, the love affair is showing no signs of cooling down.

Following the tour going on sale, first shows sold out swiftly, prompting promoters to roll into second shows in Sydney and Melbourne.  Chugg Entertainment can now can firm that both Sydney shows at the Enmore Theatre have sold out, and a third and final show has been confirmed for Wednesday 31st July at Sydney’s Metro Theatre, following their appearance at the sold-out Splendour In The Grass.

The international response to this Icelandic 5-piece has been ever-growing, with their current tour taking them far from their native homeland, with dates across North & South America (including a recent show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado), Europe and Asia.  Kicking off the northern hemisphere summer festival circuit at Coachella in April, they also have upcoming appearances at Bonnaroo, Glastonbury and Roskilde to name but a few.

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, lead guitarist Brynjar Leifsson spoke of how he and his bandmates are both overjoyed yet bewildered by the group’s rapid ascent, saying the reception is always "overwhelming; it's nice to see so many people who want to help us and who appreciate what we are doing, it's lots of fun and it is beautiful."

Their debut album My Head Is An Animal reached all the way to #6 on the Billboard chart, surpassing the avant-garde pop star generally considered Iceland's most famous musical export, Björk, whose Volta reached #9 on Billboard in 2007.

Joining Of Monsters and Men on all Australian dates will be Mammals, the solo project of Guy Brown.  Hailing from Sydney's sunny Northern beaches, Guy began writing and recording as Mammals in 2011, producing music that walks effortlessly through the realms of folk, electronica and indie rock.  Mammals first single Move Slower brought Guy to the attention of the good folk at triple j who awarded him Unearthed “Artist Of The Week.”  The win saw Guy perform at the 2013 Laneway Festival.  Since then, Move Slower has built more and more traction online and on stage with over 70,000 plays on SoundCloud.  Mammals are currently in the studio working on their debut release and are set to hit the road again soon.

With their honeyed harmonies and the rousing ensemble of guitars and horns, these shows are set to see Australian fans fall even harder for Of Monsters and Men.
