Yacht Club DJs announce supports on Mayhem Tour
Mayhem they said, and Mayhem they will. Stoking the proverbial party flame, Yacht Club DJs are pleased to announce not one, but six supports on their national Mayhem Tour.
Main support takes form in part-man-part-rock trio Step-Panther, who are known for face-melting sets alongside the likes of Yuck, Kurt Vile and Girls. Following the release of their self-titled debut album, Step-Panther was hailed one of the Best New Bands of 2012 by NME. With a bunch of new songs under their belt, via new EP ‘Dreamcrusher’, the Sydney-based band is welcomed as national support.
If two’s company, three’s a party and Brisbane is all the richer with Rodeo also joining the bill. Rodeo is the brainchild of Susie Patten, best known for her work with much-loved indie band I Heart Hiroshima. Local DJS Fantini and Jesse will warm the decks in Hobart, playing Republic Bar on March 28 and 29 respectively.
Having snagged a spot on Big Day Out in Melbourne, triple j Unearthed winners APES are along for the ride in Melbourne and Ballarat. With their numerically inclined track ‘Seven’ dominating airwaves across the country, the band has a strict anti-folded arm policy, and will enforce if necessary. Melbourne two-piece Ross de Chene Hurricanes join the party in Adelaide, playing tunes from their brand spanking new EP ‘Don’t Sweater It’.
With supports locked and loaded, the Mayhem Tour kicks off on March 22. Tickets are on sale now.
