The Temper Trap have two more shiny trophies to add to their cabinet – platinum ones – with both the self-titled album and single Trembling Hands officially selling over 70,000 copies apiece in Australia.
Back in the country this week for the Future Music tour, these latest accolades top an already impressive list of achievements for the band’s second album – a #1 chart-topping debut, two Top 40 hit singles, ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Group, national sold out tours, a coveted support slot for Coldplay on their latest stadium extravaganza, not to mention THE headline performance at last year’s AFL Grand Final.
Today, The Temper Trap – Australian Collector’s Edition is released. This Australian only special features two CDs in a striking digi-pack. The first CD contains all 12 original album tracks and the three bonus songs only released on the deluxe version of the album. The second disc contains remixes of Need Your Love and Trembling Hands and six previously unreleased acoustic recordings. With 24 tracks in total and revitalised artwork, the Australian Collector’s Edition is a must for fans of The Temper Trap both new and old.
The Future Music appearances will see the band entertain audiences in metro cities across the country. During April and May, they will hit the road again for Groovin’ The Moo, this time performing for fans in regional cities.
In light of all of this activity, the band have decided to share a new single with us from The Temper Trap – the stunning, Miracle. Without doubt one of the standout tracks on the self-titled LP, Miracle is deliberately underplayed in orchestration yet epic in execution. Its pulsing, stripped back feel highlights its poignant lyrics, creating an utterly evocative, transportive score.
