Jeff Buckley's Lost Studio Songs To Be Released Next Year

Jeff Buckley’s “lost” studio recordings will be released as an album, ‘You And I’, for the very first time on Friday, 11 March 2016, via Columbia/Legacy Recordings/Sony Music Australia.

For more than two decades, these ten tracks have gone virtually unheard. Long rumoured to exist but unheard of outside the studio, ‘You And I’ is the holy grail for Buckley fans are a revelation and an intimate portrait of the artist performing a variety of cover songs and original music, expressing a range of emotion channelled through his unique sensibility.

The songs on ‘You And I’ reveal the eclectic scope of Buckley’s extraordinary musical tastes and talent, as he takes each cover song and makes it his own with highly personal interpretations of the songs. Rounding out the album are two original songs: the first-ever studio recording of his signature song Grace and the mysterious and haunting Dream Of You And I.

The album was recently discovered in the Sony Music archives during research for the 20th anniversary edition of Buckley’s ‘Grace’, his one and only studio album released in 1994.

‘You And I’ offer an incredible glimpse of Buckley alone in the studio, with an intimacy and honesty to the performance that is unique as it is rare. It is simply Buckley and his guitar alone with the listener as he plays and sings the music that meant the most to him at that time.

The newly discovered studio recordings on ‘You And I’ add to a scant discography of one of the great musicians of the 20th century, and essential listening for any fan of Buckley’s.
