Marcus Corowa Reveals First Single From Upcoming EP

Independent singer/songwriter Marcus Corowa has just released a new single, Nobody Knows, the first from his forthcoming EP ‘Water And Air’.

The track is a catchy and emotional song that displays the enormous talent of Corowa as both a songwriter and singer. The scaled back instrumentation, especially in the introduction with a delicate piano line, makes for some beautiful melodies that underpin the towering vocals for a song that will stick in your head for days.

It’s surprising to discover that such a well-crafted song came about effortlessly in the studio, as the chords, melody and lyrics all coming at once, and the song recorded in a day in the studio. Sometime songs just write themselves.

If you haven’t heard of Marcus Corowa, it’s time you’re brought up to speed. Growing up in Bowen in Far North Queensland, his earliest memories are of playing guitar. He moved to Brisbane as a teenager and after finishing school landed a job at Australia Post. However it wasn’t long before he started to pursue his true love of music.

Corowa began to make his mark on the Australian music scene in 2012 with the release of his debut EP ‘The Greater You’, which earned him a Deadly Award for Most Promising New Talent. Since then he has performed at some major festivals such as Sydney Festival and FUSE, as well as supporting some huge acts like James Reyne and Christine Anu.

Inspired by his Aboriginal and South Sea Islander roots, along with the influences of blues, jazz, funk, soul and pop, Corowa has developed a musical style that is as diverse as it is intriguing, with Nobody Knows a prime example of what Corowa is capable of.

The new single captures the feeling behind his upcoming EP ‘Water And Air’, which is set for release in early 2016, so keep an eye out for this talented artist on the rise.
