Flight Facilities are taking us up, up and away with the release of their single "Two Bodies" – officially marking the start of an exciting new musical expedition for the Sydney duo. This is in addition to a series of announcements over the last few weeks, including the announcement of their highly unexpected yet hugely anticipated "Down To Earth" debut LP and worldwide headline tour.
The stunning single features beautifully haunting vocals and lyrics by none other than Brisbane songstress Emma Louise and is matched by an equally impressive music video from Sydney-via-New-York director Lorin Askill.
With their long-awaited first album release feeling like a coming-of-age tale, "Two Bodies" proves that the Sydney duo have indeed taken things to the next level. The single bundles Flight Facilities' never-disappointing, hit-making production talent with Ms Louise's understated, ethereal vocal talents – melding this into one epic first taster of the forthcoming "Down To Earth" out on 24 October 2014.
The duo obviously has a knack for finding promising vocalists to feature on their tracks at just the right time (read Jess, Owl Eyes, Elizabeth Rose), showcasing talented songwriting against a solid and skillful backdrop of their production genius. With Brisbane songstress Emma Louise's recent single "My Head Is A Jungle" (MK Remix) and Triple J Top 100 favourite "Jungle" scaling the heights of the UK / French charts. Emma's vocals on "Two Bodies" leave us with a sensational, timeless result. And this is what Flight Facilities had to say on the track:
"We started writing Two Bodies almost a year ago, before Down To Earth had even been conceived. We had every intention of trying to release it in 2013 but, as usual, we weren't quick enough. The whole song came about in less than a week, but the mixing took a further 6 months. Emma Louise was someone we had always wanted to work with and we couldn't be happier to release it as a first single from our first record".
The single is accompanied by an official music video directed by Sydney's own Lorin Askill. The erotic, artistic clip was shot in New York and evokes a feeling of sometimes needing or wanting to be taken advantage of. Loren Askill is himself the mastermind behind clips from Chet Faker & Flume "Drop The Game", Phoenix "Rally" and a recent collaboration with Lana Del Rey for Vogue Australia.
"Two Bodies" will have you climbing airwave altitudes, soaring across the soundly skies and immersing yourself in that first class Flight Facilities experience. With their Sydney and Melbourne shows selling out, additional dates announced for both cities, and an international headline tour on the horizon, you best prepare for take-off.
