The Middle Names Release "My Brother And I" Video

Hailing from the distant lands of Tasmania, up and coming indie rock band The Middle Names will not let the Bass Straight stand between them and the rest of the nation.

Having released their debut album I Need Space in 2014, The Middle Names have just released the second film clip from the album “My Brother And I” ahead of their Sydney show at Brighton Up Bar next week.

A catchy mix of jangly guitars, pop hooks and rock riffs, “My Brother And I” brings their unique Tasmanian quirk to the indie genre. The Middle Names bring in elements of 90's rock lyricism, with a touch of pop charm and a pub-rock attitude.

The Middle Names have been making a name for themselves, having played some of Australia's best festivals, including Falls Festival Marion Bay, Dark MoFo, and BIGSOUND as well as supporting the likes of Ball Park Music, San Cisco, The Jungle Giants, Snakadaktal, and Husky.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the band, I Need Space is the album that almost didn’t happen. Days before leaving for Queensland to work at Applewood Lane studios in 2013, the band were rehearsing at vocalist Ben's house/studio when a fire sparked and spread. The band escaped safely with only the instruments in their hands, but the house and all of Ben's possessions were lost.

Thankfully, The Middle Names didn’t let the tragedy bring them down, producing an astounding album as the new film clip illustrates perfectly.
