VAMPIRE WEEKEND | announce Melbourne & Sydney Headline Shows
The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to announce that Vampire Weekend are coming to Melbourne and Sydney this January for two special summer headline shows!
Are you in the middle of the Venn diagram that combines a love of Broadway theatre and a love for Vampire Weekend? Then I could have the best news you’ve ever heard in your life.
There is a lot to be excited about in the revival of 1996 play This Is Our Youth. First off all is reunites Scott Pilgrim Vs The World star couple Kieren Culkin and Michael Cera but an exciting announcement has revealed that the play will be scored by Vampire Weekend multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij.
Batmanglij, who has already written scores for indie films Sound Of My Voice and The East, will make his Broadway debut tackling Kenneth Lonergans influential play about three rebellious college students struggling to grow up and find their place in society. Having been children during the more liberal ’60s, they find their core values now at odds with those of the ’80s Reagan era.
The play has already had a run at the Sydney Opera House in 2012 but here’s hoping with a revamped soundtrack it’ll make its way back down under.
