Vivid LIVE Brings a Stellar Lineup in 2014

Vivid LIVE

Vivid LIVE has announced the latest acts for the sixth annual spectacular including the Pixies, Giorgio Moroder and the Australian Chamber Orchestra featuring The Presets.

The festival runs over 10 days from the 23 May to 1 June and will see some of the most ambitious and innovative local and international artists take part in events around the Sydney Opera House.

Vivid LIVE has come to be renowned for their groundbreaking collaborations, and this year proves no different.

The Pixies are set to open the festival and make their Vivid LIVE debut as their first and only Australian performance in four years, the intimate performance sure to provide a sensory delight.

Renowned as a pioneer of disco and godfather of dance music, Giorgio Moroder makes his Australian debut at the ripe age of 74. In two exclusive engagements he will draw from his hit-spanning career and recent collaborations with Daft Punk.

As well as this, Australian electronic duo The Presets have teamed up with the Australian Chamber Orchestra to create, Timeline, a visual history of 42,000 years of history, from aboriginal percussion to dub-step beats.

In what’s become the centerpiece of the festival, the iconic Sydney Opera House will be turned into an art form itself; the innovative people behind the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, 59 Productions, creating a spectacular projected work.

A full program of the Vivid LIVE and Vivid MUSIC program is to be announced on Monday 24 March but needless to say, we’re already packing our bags in excitement.
