Everybody needs a style icon…including robots. Thankfully, fashion-struggling robots don’t need to fear; they have Daft Punk.
The French electronic music duo has been riding a huge wave of prominence on the release of their fourth studio album Random Access Memories. Having recently picked up five Grammys (including Record of the Year and Album of the year), the robots, and their fashion, are more relevant than ever.
We took a look through Daft Punk’s catalogue of outfits, and bring you some of the best! Dress like these two, and you’ll be doin’ it right.
Daft Tron
Contributing the soundtrack to the film Tron Legacy, Daft Punk also made a cameo appearance in the film, wearing leather, reflective Tron suits, designed by Christine Bieselin Clark. Daft Tron, I like it.
Sequined Punk
The November 2013 issue of WSJ. Magazine featured a playful photoshoot of the robots together with top model Gisele Bündchen. Styled by George Cortina and photographed by the controversial Terry Richardson (known for a certain Wrecking Ball video), it includes some gold and silver sequined jackets that make for some fine looking robots.
Discovery Punk
Discovery era Daft Punk featured some of the best helmets in the game. LED light heaven.
Vogue Punk
2013’s July/August issue of Vogue saw an editorial featuring the robots presenting the latest menswear looks for the upcoming fall/winter season. Don’t they look spiffing!
Daft Storm Trooper
Daft Punk’s 2014 Grammys performance saw them in white robo-suits that likened them to Star Wars Storm Troopers. And storm the Grammys they did!
Dapper Punk
A robot wardrobe staple is a black tuxedo. Especially when they’re about to go and pick up a few golden trophies. Follow this robo-style staple, and you might even get lucky.
Daft on the Throne
Their trademark black sequined jackets, glitter shoes and those velvet chairs. These robots are fit for royalty.
Motor Punk
The robots turned up to the Monaco Grand Prix, dressed in full racing outfits, to check out the official Daft Punk racecar. Robo-helmets, the perfect racing accessory!
