Yacht Club DJs are hitting the road (via US airways) with Mumford & Sons for a series of SOLD OUT Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers in the States!
Propelled by a slew of successful singles, including the Triple Platinum ‘I Will Wait’, Mumford & Sons’ sophomore album is one that boasts multi-million sales, #1 status on both sides of the Atlantic and an ‘Album of the Year’ Grammy to boot.
Now comes the band’s latest instalment, in the shape of new single ‘Babel’ - the album’s much loved title track. The track’s partnering video was unveiled last night, featuring camera trickery and multiple Mumfords. Check it out here: http://po.st/BabelVid
With rollicking piano and banjo interludes, along with just the right amount of Mumford charm, it’s a track that will be met with heaving crowd when the band return to Australia for one very special headline performance at the sold out Splendour in the Grass festivalthis month. Fresh from a headline slot on Glastonbury, the band’s live show is said to have reached new heights with an estimated 80,000 festival goers rocking up to watch Mumford & Sons bring the festival to a triumphant close last weekend.
On top of Grammy love in the States and taking out ‘Best British Group’ at The Brit Awards, Mumford & Sons were recently voted in at #14 of triple j’s Hottest 100 of the last 20 years with debut single ‘Little Lion Man’. They are also this month’s cover stars of Rolling Stone, further solidifying their place as one of Australia’s favourite bands. It is of little surprise that second album Babel is well on its way to reaching certified Triple Platinum status in Australia.
Their one-off Splendour appearance is bookended by countless sold out shows in the US, including their self-curated Gentleman of the Road Stopover Shows with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Vaccines, Haim and a host of special guests.
