Released last Friday, The Cat Empire’s eagerly-awaited new album, ‘Steal The Light’, is already proving a force to be reckoned with on charts worldwide, hitting top 20 in the iTunes album charts of five countries on release day; #2 on the Australian chart, #5 in Canada, #19 in Switzerland, #20 in Germany, #20 in Holland, #25 in South Africa, #26 in the UK, #40 in Austria, #53 in France and #80 in Belgium!
These outstanding results consolidate a wave of acclaim from fans and critics alike, with Rolling Stone describing the album as “a world of enlightenment” and Inpress hailing the record as “a career-defining statement… it is that darn good.”
The band will celebrate with an appearance on Channel 9’s The Today Show this Wednesday 22nd May, for which they will perform their eponymous second single and title track “Steal The Light” along with live show anthem “The Chariot”.

The Cat Empire will commence their world tour in July, with over 70 dates throughout the USA, Canada, South America, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands. They will be back in Australia in September for the national leg of the tour, with tickets for these shows already on sale.
