InstaFalls - The Story of Falls Festival 2012 Told Through Instagram

instafalls

It’s the story the festival goers create for themselves.

Falls Festival kicks off this weekend and with it thousands of connected festival punters will be documenting their favourite weekend their way: through the ever-evolving prism of Instagram – the photo-sharing icon of the new world.

Instafalls, a non-profit website developed by three long time fans of the festival, is ready to automatically capture and display all the Instagram photographic memories made on site at Lorne and Marion Bay with relevant festival hashtags such as #fallsfestival. A true portal for reminiscing.

Poised and ready to share in the collective adventure, instafalls.com.au launched yesterday and has already begun to pull together the excitement felt nationwide as music lovers pack and prepare for their pilgrimage south.

Said Lach Hall, site creator , “It’s basically the story of Falls 2012 told via Instagram. The site captures all the great festival moments: Tickets arrived! Snap! Buying booze that’s not meant to be bought in but is...snap! Packing the car, the road trip, the tent pitching, the festival, the come down, the recovery. It’s uncensored, unbiased, unforgiving but real.”

Not only is Instafalls a great way to reminisce once you're back, or a great way to see what’s going on if you're not there, the platform can be a useful way for journalists, bloggers and lovers of festivals, photography and modern iconography to connect with image creators.

A non-profit web memory book that only brings together images that exist in the public space Instafalls’ creators Lach Hall, Chris Duell and Yann Micuta are all long time festival goers who wanted a way to combine the work they do every day in the digital sphere with something they truly love. It’s their online love letter to Falls; a tribute to the great festival, and to personify in one page all the good times they’ve had.
