A Revolution Of Music Hits Brisbane

We all know music can be a lot more than mad chills. Artists have been writing songs to connect with their audience, express another part of themselves, protest against da man and hopefully spark change. In a massive collaboration across Queensland, some our finest musicians are doing something great, it’s a night of protest, it’s a night of glory. Children of the revolution, you are called, it’s time for change.

The Triffid will light up at the end of this month for a very special night of music – CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION: The History of The Protest Song.

The night will be held on January 17, just two days after what should have been the 86th birthday for inspirational civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Already confirmed for the show are  Paddy McHugh, Jackie Marshall, Luke Peacock (with full band), Sahara Beck, Tuxedo Kitten, CKNU, Lucy Star (Satellite), and Celestino with more surprises on the night.

Across the night the artist will re-visit and perform the songs of protest and passion that have inspired them – drawn from decades of powerful musical moments. This marks the second time SUGARRUSH Music has presented Children of the Revolution – the first show in 2012 at Brisbane Powerhouse was a night none of the sold out crowd would forget in a hurry.

Whether you are itching for some revolution, or just keen for a rad singalong to some mad covers, it’s going to a night worth checking out.
