One Night Stand A Success

Triple J once again pulled out all the stops for its One Night Stand concert on Sunday in Mildura, VIC proving that One Night Stands aren’t always awkward and embarrassing.

The line-up for the 2014 One Night Stand was chocked full of Australian talent like Dan Sultan and The Jungle Giants but crowds were delighted to receive not one, not two but four surprise guests on the night.

Magic Dirts Raul Sanchez joined Brissie boys Violent Soho for the set while Kingswood made an appearance in Sultans set and Nichole Miller was there to help out Rüfüs for a song.

The event that had everyone a’buzzing, however, was when James Keogh (a.k.a Vance Joy) trotted onstage during Draphts set with a ukulele in hand. The pair performed a rap mash up of Joy’s Hottest 100 topping track riptide to thunderous applause.

Putners weren’t too happy the next day however when they were stuck in 6km long traffic jams at a fruit fly checking station to get out of Victoria.

Oh well, you win some you lose some.
