A Month-Long Music Festival? Yes Please!

After being held in the United Kingdom for nearly a decade, OXJAM is finally hitting Australian shores this August.

The month-long interactive festival raises money to help fight poverty around the world, and in the past has attracted support from Coldplay, Fatboy Slim, and Hot Chip, among others.

The festival works in many ways, giving people the opportunity to host their own show, hit the stage as a band, or just join in the party. You can register your gig on their website or hook up with other events happening all over the country, all the while raising money for those in need.

Oxfam and MTV’s music channels MTV Music & MTV Dance will be launching the nation-wide grassroots music festival, which will feature hundreds of locally organised music events, run by music-loving volunteers, raising money for Oxfam Australia.

Oxfam has also called in some favours from their buddies in the music industry to curate a series of OXJAM gigs throughout August, with the first wave of support coming via the likes of I OH YOU, UNDR ctrl, NOISEY, the ONE DAY crew, and other Australian record labels and promoters.

The full line-up for OXJAM launch events will be announced in June. Saving the world has never sounded so good. Make sure you get involved.
