So you missed out on tickets, or needed the money to, you know, eat and pay rent. That’s okay, it’s not the end of the world, you can still get a little taste of Splendour in the Grass with a great...
If you’re one of the lucky few to snag tickets to The 1975’s almost totally sold out Australian tour, you will be happy to know that The Japanese House has been announced as the supporting act for the tour, in January 2016.
The Japanese House (aka 20-year-old Amber Bain) is riding high after the release of her acclaimed debut EP ‘Pools To Bathe In’. The young Londoner's second EP is due out next month, with title track Clean already released.
Recorded during the UK summer with George Daniel and Matthew Healy of The 1975, Clean continues to see The Japanese House expand on the unique, brooding electronica showed on ‘Pools To Bathe In’ whilst continuing to push the parameters of alt-pop with her luscious, hazy and engulfing sound.
The 1975 have also got new material out, releasing their first new song in two years. The single, Love Me, is taken from their second LP ‘I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ which is due out in February and is already being hyped as one of the world’s most anticipated albums of 2016.
The 1975 lived up to their reputation as Britain’s biggest new band, selling out their Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane shows minutes after tickets went on sale in July, with tickets for their Perth show selling out fast.
