Iron Maiden Announce Australian Tour

For many of us, we’ve never been able to use the classic line ‘I’ve got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby’ from Wheatus' Teenage Dirtbag in a realistic context, but that’s all about to change as rock legends Iron Maiden are embarking on a massive world tour, including a stop in Australia.

The band, whose new studio double album ‘The Book Of Souls’ (which debuted at number 2 in Australia) will return in May aboard a Boeing 747 dubbed the ‘Ed Force One’ that will be piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson and will be transporting band, crew and 12 tons of equipment across the 35 countries they plan to visit.

This will be their first Aussie tour since 2011 when they were the headliners for Soundwave festival, and is set to be played at the countries best arena venues.

“ [Iron] Maiden thrive on touring and getting out to our fans, it’s what we do best, so it will be a great feeling to board our new Jumbo Ed Force One with the crew and the gear and head round the globe and get back on stage for you guys” Dickinson comments on the tour itself.

“We haven’t played in Australia and New Zealand for a number of years so it will be a pleasure to play for our Antipodean cousins again, irrespective of who wins the dates with destiny at Twickenham in a few weeks’ time!!”

While it’s been said by the band a set list for the tour has not yet been decided, fans can expect a few new songs to be added to the bill but shouldn’t fear as the old favourites will without a doubt make an appearance.

Tickets for the Australian tour will be going on sale to the general public at 12noon (local time) on Thursday 24th September via Ticketek. However, as usual, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for IRON MAIDEN Fan Club members, details of which can be found on www.ironmaiden.com. Fan Club members will also be eligible in the draw to be ’First to the Barrier’.
