High Demand Forces Venue Change For American Football

Heavy demand has forced promoters of seminal Chicagoan emo band American Football to change venues for the Brisbane leg of the fly-in-fly-out tour at the start of July. Originally slated to play the Brightside, American Football will now play iconic venue the Zoo, which has a capacity of 500.
The news comes in the wake of a phoenix-like resurgence for American Football in 2014-15, who in their first incarnation only played a handful of shows and disbanded shortly after releasing their self-titled debut LP, one of only two official releases from the band (the other being a self-titled EP). A Polyvinyl reissue of American Football to mark fifteen years since its release preceded a trio of sold-out shows at New York City’s Webster Hall, as well as shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Tickets bought for the Brightside are valid for the Zoo show. This may be the one and only chance to see a band whose legacy and influence continues to grow.
