"Tussing" with The Jungle Giants

The Jungle Giants

More than a tease, but less than a tussle The Jungle Giants have affectionately named their latest tour “Tuss”; a nod to their playful tunes and mischievous stage antics we’ve come to know.

With a string of 2013 shows and festival performances under their belts, they announce one last round of capital city dates including All Ages and Under 18s shows.

To those unversed in The Jungle Giants vernacular, the word “tuss” is thought to be an insight into the life and times of the band.

Front man Sam Hales says the word was created by his housemate to describe how the band interacts.

“We are always messing around. Smacking each other in the face. Playing around,” he said.

“It can be physical or psychological. It’s perfectly annoying and perfectly great.”

The tour sees the band take over a Brisbane laneway for block party ‘Ric’s Big Backyard’ alongside Millions, Little Odessa, ShortStraw and Moses Gun Collective.

This year is set to be yet another mammoth one for the band and will see them venture to the US for SXSW, as well as feature on the Groovin’ the Moo line up and perform at many regional centres throughout the country.

Check them out at these dates with fellow Brisbane kids Millions and South Africa’s ShortStraw who will be visiting Australia for the first time.
