SOLANGE – NEW SYDNEY & MELBOURNE TOUR DATES

“If you were going to build the perfect pop star, you’d put her in the coolest family but make her the rebel, the one who smoked weed in their youth and listened to Rick Ross and Dirty Projectors. You’d give her hipster mates, like Olly XX and Dev ‘Blood Orange’ Hynes, and a singing voice like Diana Ross high on crack. Friends, meet Solange...” NME

A singer, songwriter, dancer, model, actor and fashion arbiter, Solange Knowles is an artist with many strings to her bow. With two solo albums and a bunch of other songwriting credits behind her Solange released True in late 2012. Produced by long time collaborator Devonté "Dev" Hynes (Blood Orange) the 80’s pop / alt R&B inspired 7 track EP produced the ‘oh so catchy’ single Losing You and its lush and bold accompanying video, shot in Capetown. True received enthusiastic reviews from music press around the world.

With a new album on the horizon audiences can expect to hear some fresh tracks when Solange hits stages across Australian in January.

Check out her new video ‘Lovers In The Parking Lot’ here.

LONDON GRAMMAR TO BRING THEIR BRILLIANCE TO OZ

“Shaping up to be one of the most promising bands of the year”   - The Guardian

“Their songs are haunting to the point they rattle the nerves”    - Pitchfork

“…The brilliance of Reid is undeniable”  - FasterLouder★★★★★★★★

They captured hearts with the release of debut single ‘Hey Now’ and cast a soulful swoon over the masses with slow-burning follow ups ‘Wasting My Young Years’ and ‘Strong’. Bursting anticipation was eased with the release of the UK trio’s acclaimed debut album If You Wait and now, London Grammar answer the collective call of Aussie fans with the announcement of two very special shows in Melbourne and Sydney early January.

Already, their live show is described as ‘stunning and soaring… performed with note-perfect perfection and unrelenting energy’ (ThisisfakeDIY.com). Ever since selling out their very first show (London’s Electrowerkz) in March this year, London Grammar’s live show has been buzzed and blogged about across the globe. Fast forward a mere six months, and they now count Glastonbury, Bestival and the xx’s self-curated Night + Day amongst the festivals they have courted. Now, with a hefty 58 shows locked in across the globe (including an already sold out 10-date UK tour), London Grammar’s live prowess is set to reach new heights, new continents and adoring new ears.

Upon release of their debut work If You Wait, London Grammar entered the ARIA charts at #2, and continued to hold Top 5 in the week to follow; proving one of Australia’s most loved breakout acts of the year. The rest of the world were to follow, reaching #2 in their native UK and Scotland.

JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW RETURNS TO OUR SHORES

James Vincent McMorrow swiftly won over Australian audiences in 2012, when his maiden voyage was met with unprecedented demand, forcing upgrades and second shows along the East Coast. Now, the beloved Irish singer is set to send hearts a-flutter once again, with shows in Sydney and Melbourne this January.

2012’s Early in the Morning took James from working in an airport and recording in an isolated cabin near the Irish Sea to a number 1, gold-certified debut album in his native country. Along the way, there were shows everywhere from the Royal Festival Hall to Later...with Jools Holland, and a breakout hit – a cover of Steve Winwood’s ‘Higher Love’. McMorrow’s first record was the formative sounds of a songwriter who suddenly found people giving a damn.

“I’m so proud of that album,” he says now, “but I never longed to be a guy with a guitar. You play these songs live as best you can, and suddenly you’re a Folk musician. But the texture of this record is completely different. This is the kind of stuff I actually listen to.”

Fans of James Vincent McMorrow are urged to pay close attention, with whispers of a new album in the wind later this year.
