Brisbane’s Hey Geronimo are back-- leaner and meaner than ever, ready to fight for indie supremacy with their new single “Lazer Gun Show”, the title track from the band’s upcoming sophomore EP (out October 4).
Serving up another festival-style anthem, “Lazer Gun Show” brings out the guitars in a way the band haven’t before, cementing the band’s credentials as one of the most innovative and quirky purveyors of indie in Australia today.
Hey Geronimo had a huge 2012, with their single “Why Don’t We Do Something” scoring major syncs and clocking up nearly a million YouTube views. Their follow-ups “Carbon Affair” and “Dreamboat Jack” landed the group a spot as one of triple j’s Next Crop artists, with multiple national tours and festival slots at the likes of Fat As Butter, Homebake and Peat’s Ridge.
2013 has already seen them scour the country with Strange Talk and 90s indie legends Presidents of the USA, with their third major tour of the year happening this month, this time with Pluto Jonze. Their debut EP hit the top 100 on the US CMJ College Radio charts with an invitation to play at the annual CMJ Festival later this year. Band’s latest Australian tour will end in Brisbane with the band’s performance at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND on the coveted Bakery Lane stage.
