Bernard Fanning Departures Debuts at #1

The charts are in, and Brisbane’s favourite son has come up trumps. Following first week sales, Bernard Fanning has claimed yet another #1 ARIA Chart debut with new album Departures.

Released last week, Departures was met with an overwhelming response from fans; matched by national media, who were quick to jump on the Bernard bandwagon. Kicking off with a special performance on Channel 7’s Sunrise, Bernard also stopped by The Project to discuss his latest wares and performed new single ‘Tell Me How It Ends’ on Adam Hills Tonight. Watch the full Adam Hills episode here:

Early favourite and almost-title-track ‘Departures (Blue Toowong Skies)’ struck a chord with Adam Hills, as it did with fans, with the partnering video generating more than 31,000 views in just over a week. The track was written in memoriam of Bernard’s father and older brother. Watch it here:

Bernard hits the road next month on The Departures Tour - an extensive run of dates that already boasts nine sold out shows around the country, including repeat sell-outs in Brisbane and Perth. Wollongong’s Anita’s Theatre reached capacity within days of the album hitting shelves.

Bernard Fanning’s ARIA #1 Charting album Departures is out now via Dew Process/Universal Music Australia. Tickets to Bernard’s national tour are on sale now.
