BATTLESHIPS Co-Headline Tour With Nantes and New Single
On the back of their successful debut mini album ‘To You’, Battleships deliver their new single 'As You'd Begun' in March. Previous singles ‘In Retrospect’, ‘Your Words’ and ‘Coming Back to You’, have all found themselves on high rotation on Triple J, as well as receiving support from independent and commercial radio both in Australia and overseas, and 'As You'd Begun' looks set to do the same.
Featuring their atmospheric tones once again, ‘As You’d Begun’ combines their typical energetic and emotive sound with catchy hooks and infectious beats, showcasing the bands creative musically, as well as their song writing prowess with both delicacy and emotional depth. The self produced, self recorded single typifies the Battleships sound, a sound not made of fads or stylised trends but of authenticity and colour.
Battleships have started 2013 – only their second year as a band – with plenty of energy, high hopes and much success already under their belt. Having played a number of festivals, including (what looks to be the last ever) Peats Ridge Festival, in addition to winning the Triple J Unearthed slot at last year's Homebake, they are quickly becoming a noteworthy edition to the Australian music landscape.
Having toured last year with The Paper Kites, Art of Sleeping and many others, Battleships are hitting the road with Select Music stable-mates NANTES to co-headline their first Australian tour of 2013. These two bands and guests will bring their first class live show to venues all around the country. Battleships will be showcasing songs from their first release ‘To You’ as well as more songs to sample. Be sure to catch them when they come to your town, and see what all the fuss is about.
