The Mark Of Cain Announce Supports and Drummer for 2013 Australian Tour

The Mark Of Cain

When The Mark Of Cain presented their fifth studio LP, Songs Of The Third and Fifth in November last year, the reaction of music lovers across the country was indicative of a fan base who had been starved of the style of music TMOC make for far too long.

They responded fast, making the record the highest selling album from the FUSE group in 2012, while the critics lavished it with praise and allocated slots on their ‘best of’ lists for the year …

“Six years in the making and worth every bit of the wait. A career high point" - Rolling Stone★★★★ .5

“A testament to bands everywhere- fly the flag straight and true, or get outta town” - Stack Magazine

"Songs... is an outstanding return. It has everything a fan could want, from the familiarity of the band's crushing, minimal sound to the strong songwriting"- The Age ★★★★★

"This album is a must" – Heavy Magazine

"Songs... may be The Mark of Cain’s best work to date and an Australian great waiting to be anointed" - AU Review

“Songs Of The Third And Fifth is a concise and dynamic album that stands as the band’s definitive achievement.” Veri Live

“Even after ten years off there is still a near-military precision to a noise that keeps coming at you. And then lets up for a second. And then comes at you again, harder.” Drum Media

Brothers, John and Kim Scott have spent the better part of the festive season rehearsing with Adelaide based drummer Eli Green, who will join them on the Songs Of The Third and Fifth national album tour this March, sitting in for regular TMOC drummer John Stanier, who is unable to tour due to his current commitments with US band Tomahawk.

At just 22 years of age, Eli is currently a member of screamo-band Life Pilot, who reached #1 on the Triple J Unearthed Metal charts for their 2012 demo. Life Pilot were also nominated on Triple J's Short, Fast & Loud show (along side TMOC) for "Best Heavy Release". Additionally, Eli is the co-writer, arranger and drummer / percussionist with South Australian singer Julia Hennning who played two sold-out performances at at the Sydney Opera House Studio earlier in 2012.

"Eli is a Godsend given he is an exceptionally talented drummer who carries his own sense of gravitas in a manner similar to John Stanier but different enough to stand on his own" - John Scott.

Melbourne trio Blacklevel Embassy (owners of a new album themselves in New Veteran) will also join The Mark Of Cain on tour this March playing all shows with the exception of Coolangatta and Perth. All supports listed below.
