As if the inclusion of international heavyweights Blue Oyster Cult, Flamin' Groovies, Buzzcocks, and Peter Case of The Nerves ain't enough, the Hoodoo Gurus have gone and selected a whole swag of local acts (starting with The Stems), embracing a huge range of eras and styles so long as it rocks (and rolls). From the green-fuzz of Sydney's Lime Spiders to the bump and grind of Melbourne's nefarious The Moodists via the snot and bile of Sydney punks Straight Arrows and on to Melbourne’s two-girl garage queens Super Wild Horses. Tenacious D fans have reaffirmed the band’s massive popularity down under, selling out their Sydney and Melbourne shows in just minutes today.
Two new shows have been added at Sydney Opera House on Sunday 12 May and Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Saturday 18 May. The two new shows go on sale at 10am today (Monday 25 February).

American folk musician SAM AMIDON returns to Sydney & Melbourne in March
London-based, Amercian-born-and-raised folk musician Sam Amidon returns to Australia in early March for intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Amidon plays guitar, banjo and fiddle, and has collaborated with the likes of Glen Hansard and Beth Orton. He has released three albums of radically reworked folk songs (and an earlier one – his debut – simply titled ‘Solo Fiddle’), the last two of which were recorded in Iceland with producer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Bjork, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy). He is set to release a new album in coming months.

Brisbane's Cub Scouts had a rollercoaster ride in 2012, starting the year with their catchy ditty "Evie" taking over the airwaves solidifying their reputation in Australia and bookending the year with "Told You So" eclipsing that success and becoming a breakout hit on US college radio. In between, the band toured nationally with the likes of Ball Park Music, Pluto Jonze and Loon Lake and won the Queensland Music Awards Song of the Year for their second single "Do You Hear".
