Grimes’ highly anticipated new album ‘Art Angels’ has been released in digital form via 4AD and Remote Control Records ahead of the physical release on Friday, 11 December.
The self-directed video for the single Flesh Without Blood/Life In The Vivid Dream premiered a few weeks ago, and has already racked up an impressive two million views.
The album was recorded primarily in Grimes’ home studio in Los Angeles, where she relocated to in 2014. Like all of her previous albums, ‘Art Angels’ was written and recorded in its entirety by Grimes herself. In a departure from previous releases, this new album features more live instruments in the mix. In what should come as no surprise, Grimes plays piano, guitar and violin on ‘Art Angel’, and continues her evolution as a musician and producer in her most ambitious album to date.
Grimes returns to Australia next year for Laneway Festival and sold out sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne.
