Melbourne-based Kiwi rock outfit BONJAH have announced they’ll soon be releasing their new single Move On, just in time for summer afternoon sessions.
Move On was recorded in a tiny cabin on the South Coast of Australia and follows the bright and easy going sound as heard in their recent single Burn (And Shine).
After touring extensively both nationally and internationally over the last nine years BONJAH have taken some time off the road to focus on song writing.
Vocalist Glenn Mossop said the creative process behind Move On, which was written in an hour, was very different to their usual writing style.
“We often chip away at our song writing but this song came to us out of nowhere when it was least expected.
“It was a spontaneous burst of creativity exploring personal subject matter that resonates with millions around the world - letting go of someone you love but picking yourself back up again,” said Mossop.
BONJAH formed in 2006 when the high school friends booked a one-way ticket from New Zealand to Melbourne armed with nothing but guitars and backpacks.
Nine years on and BONJAH have sold tens of thousands of records independently, sold out shows around the world, played many major festivals, and had over 800,000 views of their cover of Lorde’s Royals for Triple J Like A Version
Move On will be released worldwide on Friday the 6th November.
