Big Day Out 2014 Attendance Plummets, What Now For 2015?
It's a bird. It's a plane. Oh no, that's just the Big Day Out attendance figures plummeting from the sky.
One of Brisbane’s favourite sons Darren Middleton is back with a new solo album ‘Splinters’, due to be released on 7 November.
The new album from the former Powderfinger guitarist is the follow-up to his 2013 debut full-length solo album ‘Translations’.
To celebrate the release of the new album, Brisbane’s The Triffid (owned by former Powderfinger band mate John Collins) will host the official album launch gig on Saturday, 7 November. The night will feature Middleton sharing the stage alongside some of his closest friends such as Ian Haug (The Church and Powderfinger), Mark Wilson (Jet), Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch), Sahara Beck, Karl S. Williams plus many more to be announced.
According to Middleton, with every song he writes he shaves off splinters of himself and his soul to carve unique stories that come together into one solid body of work. ‘Splinters’ is Middleton’s take on life and relationships and the evolving landscape of security, hurdles, loss and discovery by looking back at his journey so far and laying it bare in songs.
Featuring many guests including Sahara Beck, Guy Pearce, Talei Wolfgramm, Mia Wray and Missy Higgins, the album is chock full of talent and is sure to keep fans happy.
