Courtney Barnett And Jack White Join Forces

Melbourne’s much loved Courtney Barnett is the newest artist to team up with Jack White on his ‘Blue Series’.

In conjunction with Third Man Records, Jack White has gone about producing a series of singles with other artists, like Tom Jones, Laura Marling, and Beck to name a few. The latest artist invited to visit the Nashville studio and work with The White Stripes front man was our very own Courtney Barnett.

Barnett recorded two songs with Jack White, one of them being a dark and melancholy cover of Roland S. Howard’s Shivers, an ironic tale of teenage love and morality. Barnett unpretentiously and sullenly weaves her way through the cover, leaving everyone in anticipation of the second song they recorded together, an original single Boxing Day Blues Revisited.

We’re set to see a lot more of Courtney Barnett over the summer festival season too, with appearances at Falls Festival and Southbound.

The limited edition 7” vinyl of their colab. will be released on Friday 16, October.
