Nearly three years after the release of their debut ‘If You Leave’, London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella, Daughter will return with a new album!
The new release ‘Not To Disappear’ will be out Friday 16 January via 4AD / Remote Control Records. To celebrate the band has shared their first single, Doing The Right Thing today.
Excited to take a different approach to their new music video, Daughter invited filmmakers Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard (directors of Nick Cave film 20,000 Days on Earth) to create three films for ‘Not To Disappear’. As well as this, author Stuart Evers was commissioned to write three short stories; ‘Dress’, ‘Window’ and ‘5,040’ – based on select tracks from the new album. With these two creative collaborations the new videos have been created. Doing The Right Things (based on the story ‘Dress’) is the first in the visual trilogy.
Doing The Right Thing concerns the delicate subject of dementia and its debilitating, all-pervading effect of family. Jane & Iain’s video of Doing The Right Thing is a sympathetic portrayal.
