Hedge Fund Release New Single

Sydney-based post-rock outfit Hedge Fund have released their latest single Boyfriend.

Boyfriend delves deeper into the group’s new wave and post-rock influences comparative to The Cure, Devo, and Blondie, whilst still retaining the same unique delivery and execution.

Keeping in line with their DIY approach, Boyfriend was self-produced by the group’s vocalist Will Colvin at Free Energy Device Studios in Sydney.

Colvin said the song lyrically is about everyone wanting you to be what they want you to be, having to grow up and be responsible, be everyone's boyfriend. The whole concept revolves around that one line, "I wanna be a boy but now I've gotta be man."

Earlier in this year Hedge Fund released single Look Who’s Back which received strong support from Triple J, and national community radio stations thanks to four-weeks of chart success on the AMRAP Metro & Regional Charts.

The band have become a mainstay amongst Sydney’s live music scene and in the coming weeks will unveil tour dates and a music video in support of the song’s release.
