Brisbane’s MKO SUN (aka Hannah Macklin) has released her evocative video to new single Black Seaweed, and it is one part breathtaking, one part disturbing.
The singer said herself that the song was based on a nightmare “in which three ominous, tree-like monsters arose slowly from a dark sea and descended on me. I sat trapped on the beach in fear, unable to run. In the song, these monsters are a metaphor for my inner demons.”
The single is from MKO SUN’s upcoming EP ‘Opus Opalus’ out later this year, and it focuses heavily on the semi-classical soprano voice of Macklin, with atmospheric synth backings, giving it FKA Twigs-esque experimental vibes.
