Winterbourne may be out on the road with The Rubens, but that hasn’t stopped them from unveiling their new single To Get To Know You.
The duo from the Central Coast of NSW worked with ARIA award winning producer Eric J Dubowsky (Chet Faker, Flight Facilities, Bluejuice) at Hercules Studios in Sydney.
The track is a catchy and distinctive tune with hooks a plenty and a nice blend of stabbing electric guitar and smooth lead melodies that flow through the whole song, before upping the tempo to a real alt rock style swing to bring it all together.
Half of Winterbourne, James Draper, said that To Get To Know You was a bit of a surprise, and that once they started jamming it with the band they found it had an exciting feel.
The duo of James Draper and Jordan Brady who make up Winterbourne met at the age of 12 and bonded over their shared love of rock music. During their teenage years the pair wrote songs and grabbed any opportunity to play a gig, whether it be busking on the weekends or playing in pubs, they wanted to share their music in any situation.
Their debut EP ‘All But The Sun’ came out in 2014 and has now sold over 17 000 copies. From their humble beginnings touring across Australia in a 1989 Volkswagen they have built up a devoted fan base off the back of their energetic live shows and unique chemistry.
Now they have stepped up in to the big leagues, as support for The Rubens on their national tour, as well as playing to packed rooms on their own headline national tour.
