Perth band MOANA bring the psychedelic and exotic vibes in their new video for single Elephant Bones.
The four-piece, fronted by namesake Moana Lutton, have been making beautifully atmospheric and seductive indie rock since 2013, and recently screened the video for Elephant Bones to a sold out crowd at The Bird in Perth.
In an attempt to break the arduous release cycles often expected from emerging bands, Lutton devised splitting their second EP into three parts, with three separate release dates throughout 2015. Each release would comprise of two new tracks recorded at Debaser Studios with Andrew Lawson, a piece of collaborative visual art and music video.
One of these is Elephant Bones, a clip that is ominous and lush, with the mysteries of the jungle playing out in a hallucinogenic sequence. At the centre of it all is the mesmerising Lutton as a kind of wild queen of the jungle. It’s a heady and passionate track, and the clip is almost reminiscent of The Mighty Boosh (in a very good way).
