New Stuff From The Ocean Party

The Ocean Party have just released their first new material for 2015 and it’s a beautiful and dreamy track that explores some pretty heavy material.

Lyrically, ‘Guess Work’ looks at feelings of guilt and disenfranchisement of living in an age of globalization and drone warfare. But the song doesn’t get weighed down by the subject matter. It’s surprisingly light and easy to listen to, despite some pretty difficult imagery.

Musically it melts an Australiana sounding guitar riff with a chorus that sings "I want, to exist outside it all". It also contains elements that The Ocean Party have become known for; the multiple guitar leads, the soaring keyboards, and the moving bass.

To celebrate the release of ‘Guess Work, the band will be playing three shows through July and August, but sadly not in Brisbane. You can catch them on the following dates:

Saturday 11th of July – Melba Spiegeltent (supporting Oh Mercy) – Melbourne
Saturday 25th of July – Vic On The Park (w/ Beef Jerk) – Sydney
Saturday 1st August – The Shadow Electric Bandroom – Melbourne
