Melbourne based lo-fi noise-folk band, Tiny Little Houses have officially released their debut single Every man knows his plague; and you are mine.
The single, Every man knows his plague; and you are mine marries the heart wrenching folk of Neutral Milk Hotel, the lo-fi fuzz of 90’s stalwarts Sebadoh and songwriter Caleb’s immediately relatable, the catchy lyrics and melodies. Tiny Little Houses’ debut single emerges into an anxious, frantic, pop anthem, which belongs on the soundtrack of a weary lover’s last kiss at the end of the world.
Spawned from where many musicians have honed their craft, Tiny Little Houses began as the bedroom musings and lo-fi recordings of Caleb Karvountzis. Uploading these scratches online for friends quickly earned Caleb an unsuspected buzz, garnering attention from blogs and independent radio stations both locally and overseas. The demo “Poison Darts” was also added to triple J Unearthed radio rotation.
Caleb's fuzzed out bedroom creations would form the basis of TLH’s sound as it slowly expanded with the addition of guitarist and writing partner, Sean Mullins. Hitting the studio with producer Steven Schram (Little Red, San Cisco) in May this year, merely weeks following the addition of Al Yamin and Clancy Bond to the band, the unlikely five-some brought life to the band’s first single, Every man knows his plague; and you are mine.
