The MT WARNING Countdown Is On

Straight off the back of an inspiring run of shows in the USA including the Aussie BBQ at SXSW, NY and LA, MT WARNING will release their debut album Midnight Set on Friday 28 March.

The album release caps off an exciting 12 months for MT WARNING that has seen them tour with The Temper Trap and The Rubens. They played at Field Day London, Reeperbahn Germany, Bigsound and toured nationally with Laneway Festival, and received radio play from triple j, XFM, 6 Music and BBC Radio One including a Next Hype artist nod from Zane Lowe.

A musician’s take on a filmmaker’s vision, Midnight Set is the outcome of a serendipitous meeting between MT WARNING’s Mikey Bee and world-renowned filmmaker Taylor Steele.

Taylor posed questions like “How would a song sound from a man sinking into the ocean?” Mikey responded by piecing together compositions, jumping from guitar to piano, to drums, to bass. Taylor would then give his take on the unfolding story - a journey from one side of the day to the other, as much as from one side of life to the end.

These recordings became Midnight Set, an album that is visually thick, sonically sprawling and lyrically subtle.

“It was conceived as a concept album, a story created from start to finish. That was our writing process. Taylor and I needed that language to create it. Now it’s done it can be listened to any way you like.” said Mikey Bee.

“Enchanting and stunning, you need ‘Midnight Set’ in your life.” AAA Backstage

“…immensely affecting, moving between rousing anthems such as ‘Youth Bird’ and ‘Like a Tattoo’ and more reflective pieces such as ‘Anchor’.” Uncut

“…sinewy introspection of the National and the revelatory grandeur of Sigur Ros”. The Guardian

Midnight Set is available for pre-order from iTunes now and includes some exclusive bonus tracks – Burn Again, a live version ofAnchor and brand new track King Of The South plus a digital booklet and at a limited time pre-order only price.

MT WARNING will also record an exclusive Spotify Session on Thursday 3rd April, playing 8 new tracks for Spotify users and MT WARNING fans. It will be available on Spotify to listen to shortly after the recording.
