Feature Interview: The Cairos
Brisbane based pop band The Cairos have been making waves since the release of their track ‘Obsession’ from their up and coming record to be release early next year through Island Records....
The Cairos release the first single Desire ahead of the release of their debut album Dream of Reason on May 2.
Brisbane locals, the lads wrote over 100 songs before they were satisfied with the final tracks selected for the album.
Dream of Reason was produced and mixed by Nick Didia, of Rage Against the Machine and Powderfinger fame, and recorded at Byron Bay with guest appearances by Powderfinger guitarist, Ian Haug.
Front man, Alistair Richardson, says the new album required a lot of self-reflection within the band.
“The last two years involved a lot of change in our lives as individuals and as a band,” explains Richardson.
“For us, we really had to step back and understand: what we were about, what we believed in and where we wanted to be heading. The result was the most productive time we've ever had creatively.”
The Cairos are currently midway through their national tour with The Holidays; selling out shows and bringing their distinctive vocals and catchy riffs.
